Abstract:

Streams and lakes selected from 1:100,000 scale US Census Bureau TIGER files. Features were generalized for display at scales smaller that 1:1,000,000.

Upper reaches of some streams may actually follow paths other than those placed in this layers. In some cases, one fork of a stream may have been selected and given the name of them main stem if the main stem was short.

Completeness report:

This is an arbitrary selection of streams and lakes from the TIGER data. All know rivers were selected. Lakes and other streams were selected based on area or length, spacing, and familiarity.
